MG HS Hybrid+ in Spain: specs, trims, price and range

MG is expanding its crossover lineup in Spain with the new HS Hybrid+, a 225-hp HEV pitched against the segment’s heavy hitters, including the Toyota RAV4.

It combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine rated at 143 hp with a 199-hp electric motor for a total output of 225 hp. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds, while WLTP fuel use averages just 5.5 l/100 km. On paper, those figures land it squarely in the sweet spot for family crossovers.

With a 1.8 kWh battery, the HS Hybrid+ can cover short distances on electric power. It comes with front-wheel drive, a two-speed automatic transmission, and a combined driving range of more than 1,000 km. That mix of efficiency and reach should appeal to drivers who spend most days in the city but want painless road trips.

Two trims are offered: Comfort (from €29,990) and Luxury (from €32,490). Even the base model brings LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and a suite of safety aids. The Luxury version adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging.

The model carries DGT’s ECO label, which grants owners mobility and tax advantages. MG positions the HS Hybrid+ as the most affordable hybrid in its class, leaning on a blend of power, low consumption, and keen pricing—an equation that’s likely to resonate in today’s cost-conscious market.
