2026 Cadillac Lyriq in Canada: Lyriq-V arrives, AWD-focused trims, upgraded AKG audio
For Canada, the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq arrives with a mix of headline and fine-tuning updates. The big news is the debut of the high-performance Lyriq-V, while subtler changes include revised trim naming and an added head-up display function. The Canadian lineup also diverges slightly from what Cadillac offers in the United States.
Powertrain availability has been reshuffled. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup is now limited to the Luxury and Sport trims. Meanwhile, Premium Luxury, Signature Luxury, Premium Sport, and Signature Sport move exclusively to a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration.
This streamlined range likely ties back to softer EV sales after Canada’s federal EV tax credit was withdrawn earlier this year and to ongoing tariff pressures. A tighter set of configurations should make the ordering path clearer and keep the proposition more focused for shoppers.
Audio quality sees a notable step up for 2026. The previously available AKG Studio system with 19 speakers gives way to an upgraded AKG Studio setup with 23 speakers and Dolby Atmos. It is now standard on Premium Luxury, Premium Sport, Signature Luxury, Signature Sport, Lyriq-V, and Lyriq-V Premium, promising a richer in-cabin experience where it matters most.
