Spain's revived EBRO is taking its next step beyond the home market. After entering Portugal, the brand has officially announced the launch of sales in Bulgaria — and it isn't bringing one model, but the entire SUV lineup.

The distribution agreement has been signed with Grupo Cario. The company will become EBRO's official representative in Bulgaria and will handle imports, sales and after-sales service. The launch was formalised at EBRO Factory — the brand's plant in the Barcelona Free Trade Zone.

At launch, EBRO will operate through six official sales points across the country. Customers will be offered the full range of models currently available in Spain: from the hybrid EBRO S400 to the flagship EBRO S900 with its plug-in hybrid powertrain. The brand isn't testing the market with one entry-level car — it's arriving with the complete lineup from day one.

Bulgaria isn't the most obvious pick. The market is small: 48,163 new vehicles were registered there in 2025. But countries like this often become a convenient stepping stone for young or relaunched brands: competition is already strong, yet the barrier to entry is lower than in Germany, France or the UK.

EBRO is repeating the playbook it recently rolled out in Portugal: the full lineup, every available powertrain, and a partner with ready-made dealer and service infrastructure. At the same time, the company will build its own team in Bulgaria so it doesn't hand the market entirely over to the importer.

By 2028, industry forecasts suggest the Bulgarian market could exceed 60,000 new cars a year. For a major manufacturer those are modest numbers, but for EBRO that growth could become a meaningful foothold — especially if buyers are looking not for premium, but for practical crossovers with hybrid versions and a clear service offering.

For now, EBRO isn't going head-on into Europe's biggest markets. The brand is building its bridgehead where it's easier to gain a foothold — and where every new dealer can matter more than a loud advertising campaign.
