More range, no markup: KGM quietly hands the Torres EVX the upgrade buyers actually wanted
The Korean electric crossover, formerly SsangYong, swaps its 73.4 kWh pack for an 80.6 kWh LFP battery — and Germany's €41,990 entry price stays untouched.
KGM, the former Korean SsangYong, has updated the electric Torres EVX in the way buyers care about most: bigger battery, same starting price. The crossover now packs an 80.6 kWh LFP battery, pushing WLTP range past 500 km.
The previous Torres EVX ran a 73.4 kWh pack. On paper the new version gains roughly 40 km, and the manufacturer claims up to 664 km in city driving. In Germany the price stays at €41,990. For a mid-size electric crossover, that move matters more than any cosmetic refresh: range is still the single biggest argument when buying an EV.
The same battery already lives in the Musso EV electric pickup. Charging is unchanged: the Torres EVX accepts up to 120 kW from a DC fast charger and goes from 10 to 80 percent in 36 minutes. A three-phase home wallbox tops out at 11 kW.
The drivetrain carries over. A permanent-magnet synchronous motor on the front axle delivers 152 kW — 207 hp — and 339 Nm. Zero to 100 km/h takes a touch over 8 seconds, top speed is 175 km/h. A heat pump is offered depending on trim.
At nearly 4.7 metres long, the Torres EVX is a proper family SUV. Inside there are two large screens, generous space front and rear, and a boot of 839 litres — up to 1,662 litres with the rear seats folded. KGM hasn't touched the character of the car: it's still the same down-to-earth electric crossover, just with fewer reasons to make the owner think about charging.
