Mercedes-AMG has rolled out CLE 63 Coupe prototypes for another round of testing at the Nurburgring. The upcoming flagship of the CLE family is undergoing fresh trials ahead of a possible debut later in 2026.

The engine is the model’s biggest talking point. According to sources, Mercedes-AMG is preparing a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft for the CLE 63. Official power and torque figures have yet to be announced, but rumors point to around 650 hp. If confirmed, the coupe would sit comfortably above the BMW M4 Competition xDrive and its 523 hp.

Compared with the CLE 53, the upcoming CLE 63 should adopt a more aggressive look: new bumpers, a sporty diffuser, AMG’s signature quartet of rectangular exhaust tips, exclusive wheels and AMG 63 badging. Beefier brakes and a retuned chassis aimed at sharper cornering are also on the cards.

Inside, sources suggest, buyers could find bucket seats, more carbon trim, a different steering wheel and bespoke upholstery. The digital instrument cluster and infotainment system would also get unique calibrations. None of this has been officially confirmed.
