Mazda tops Japan's mass-market SSI by J.D. Power, rises in CSI
Mazda Motor has been named the highest-ranked brand among mass-market domestic brands in Japan for the second consecutive year, according to the Japan Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) study by J.D. Power, a global leader in consumer insights, advisory services, data, and analytics.
The company’s overall satisfaction score increased by 17 points compared with the previous study. Within its segment, Mazda received the highest ratings across all factors: dealership facilities and support, delivery, negotiations, and the contracting process. Taken together, these results suggest a deliberate, customer-focused retail strategy rather than a lucky streak.
In addition, Mazda placed third among mass-market domestic brands in Japan in the 2025 Japan Customer Service Index (CSI) study. Strong showings in both sales and service point to a balanced dealership experience—one that feels consistent and easy to recommend.
