Mazda has unveiled the updated CX-30 2027 model year for the European market. According to Motor1 Italia, the Japanese crossover gets no radical changes to its styling or engine line-up, but it does step up in equipment and driver-assistance systems.

The biggest news is on the safety front. Adaptive cruise control is now linked to the road-sign recognition system: the driver can transfer the detected speed limit straight to the cruise control with a button on the steering wheel. Automatic emergency braking has been improved for turns at intersections and now recognises motorcycles. Secondary collision prevention and driver attention monitoring also become standard from the entry-level Prime-Line.

Exterior tweaks are subtle. The Homura, Homura Plus and the new Makoto special edition can be ordered with black front trim, blacked-out badges and darkened model lettering. The palette now includes nine colours, with the new Aero Grey and Zinc Green among them. In Germany, prices start at 29,990 euros for the Prime-Line. The new Makoto starts at 34,440 euros and brings a light interior, a 360-degree camera and a Bose sound system. The Homura Plus is priced from 37,140 euros, while the range-topping Takumi — from 38,190 euros.

The engines carry over: two naturally aspirated petrol units paired with a 24-volt mild-hybrid system. The base e-Skyactiv G 2.5 produces 140 hp, while the e-Skyactiv X 2.0 puts out 186 hp and can be combined with i-Activ AWD all-wheel drive. There is no diesel in the line-up.
