Volvo ES90 turns business-friendly: lower price, broader kit, same 664 km of range

Volvo expands the electric ES90 line-up in Europe with a Plus Business Edition starting at €69,995 — €3,000 less than the regular Plus, with more standard kit on top.

Volvo has expanded the electric ES90 line-up in Europe with a new Plus Business Edition. It is a Single Motor Extended Range variant — the calmest of the three powertrains, but by no means a weak one.

This ES90 comes with a single electric motor producing 333 hp and a 92 kWh battery. The claimed WLTP range is 664 km. For comparison, the more powerful Twin Motor with 449 hp and the Twin Motor Performance with 680 hp use a 106 kWh battery and travel up to 701 km.

The whole point of the new version is price and equipment. The Volvo ES90 Single Motor Extended Range Plus Business Edition costs €69,995. That is €3,000 less than the regular Plus, yet the specification is not trimmed down — it is actually broader. Standard kit includes ventilation not only for the front seats but for the rear bench as well, an option that normally adds €1,420 to the price.

Another saving comes from the body colours. Plus Business Edition is offered in Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Vapour Grey and Forest Lake. Onyx Black, Denim Blue and Forest Lake are paid options on the regular versions, adding €1,295 each. All in, the combined saving on one of those colours can reach €5,715.

Despite the word Business in its name, the trim is available to private buyers as well as fleet customers.
