The new Chevy Bolt has gotten louder: a bold orange is now within reach of even base buyers
The 2027 Chevy Bolt adds Habanero Orange (code GAG, touch-up WA-221K) at no extra cost on both LT and RS trims, bringing the new palette to seven colors.
Chevrolet has expanded the palette of the new Bolt for the 2027 model year: the EV now comes in a vivid Habanero Orange. The color carries the code GAG and the touch-up paint number WA-221K. It can be ordered on both the base LT and the sportier RS trim — at no extra charge.
Habanero Orange is one of four brand-new colors for the latest generation of the Bolt. It joins Atomic Yellow (RS only), Marina Blue Metallic and Relic Green Metallic (LT only). Mosaic Black Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic and Summit White carry over from the previous lineup — seven shades in total. The previous-generation Bolt EV offered orange only in the form of Cayenne Orange Metallic, available on the 2020 and 2021 model years.
The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt itself was unveiled in the fall of 2025 and went on sale in early 2026. In the US, the LT starts at $28,995 including destination, while the RS begins at $32,995. The EV is built on the GM BEV2 platform and uses a 65 kWh LFP battery. The stated range is around 422 km (262 miles).
The new color signals that even GM’s affordable EV is leaning on more than just price and range — vivid design is part of the pitch too. In the mass-market EV segment, that increasingly tips the buyer’s decision.
