Avatr has brought its VISION XPECTRA concept to the Chongqing motor show. The car already debuted outside China at last year's IAA in Munich and appeared at the Beijing auto show in April; now it's back in front of the home crowd. The concept is built around the Chinese notion of «qi» and the theme of energy.

Avatr itself describes the VISION XPECTRA not as mere transport but as a vehicle for its Emotional Intelligence philosophy — an «emotionally intelligent partner». There's a concrete agenda behind the bold language: to show what the visual language of second-generation production models will look like. Design was led by Nader Faghihzadeh, executive vice president and chief designer at Avatr.

The concept gets a near-fully transparent panoramic cabin that the company itself compares to a glass greenhouse. The interior is deliberately put on display, as though in a shop window: this underlines both the body's shape and the cabin's new role as the primary space for interacting with the car. One central element is the so-called «emotional vortex» behind the central screen.

For Avatr, this isn't just an interface but the visual heart of the car — something that, through light, rhythm and intuitive reactions, is meant to read and anticipate the user's needs.

The cabin also uses inflatable materials and 3D-knitted structures that shift the perception of form and softness. On the outside, the VISION XPECTRA stands out with its «stele»-style front emblem, coach doors and individual seats. For a production car, all of this in this form may prove too much, but Avatr is already saying that the concept's key motifs will carry over to future models: the front-end light signature, sculpted sides and the idea of an «emotional» centre in the cabin. For the brand this matters more than one striking show car.

Avatr is trying to anchor itself in the premium segment not just with power, batteries or driver assistance, but with a distinctive style — something a buyer recognises before reading the spec sheet. The real question now is how much of this boldness will survive the encounter with mass production, pricing and the demands of everyday use.
