BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring taxi program in Germany 2026: range, partners, and price
BYD is offering German taxi and rental fleets already converted Seal 6 DM-i Touring hybrids with a 1,350 km WLTP range, though pricing and conversion costs remain undisclosed.
About 100 already converted vehicles are meant to spare German taxi fleets a long wait. But the economics of BYD’s offer can’t be assessed yet: the manufacturer has announced special terms without naming the discounts, lease rates, or conversion costs.
The program is built around the plug-in hybrid BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring. Its combined range reaches 1,350 km (WLTP), of which up to 100 km can be covered without starting the gasoline engine. That combination reduces dependence on charging stations during a long shift.
Conversions are handled by DIE Transform, Intax, Heedfeld and Reuss. Together with the first partner, BYD has built up a stock of roughly 100 ready-to-use vehicles. The electric crossovers Atto 3 Evo and Sealion 7 will join the program later, letting operators choose between the hybrid’s greater total range and fully electric operation.
The project also draws on the brand’s broader presence: BYD is already expanding its dealer network in Germany, aiming to reach roughly 350 sales and service sites by the end of 2026.
Quick access to ready-made vehicles genuinely matters for a taxi fleet, but 100 cars only solve the timing question. The program’s financial sense will become clear once the price, conversion cost, and service terms are published.
