SVI Engineering's armored Toyota Hilux with B6 Stopgun V2.0 survives live-fire, riot and a 2-meter drop

South African company SVI Engineering put an armored Toyota Hilux equipped with the B6 Stopgun V2.0 package through a series of extreme trials to demonstrate how much punishment it can take. The program covered live-fire testing, a simulated riot, and a two-meter drop.

In the opening test, the pickup came under fire from 9 mm, DM5, and AK-47 weapons. Rounds hit the bodywork and glass simultaneously, yet none managed to breach the armor.

Next was a riot simulation: engineers went at the truck with stones, a hammer, a crowbar, and a pickaxe in an effort to break the body. The cabin remained unscathed.

The finale was the most dramatic: a two-meter drop onto concrete to validate the built-in rollover protection. The outcome spoke for itself—only minor roof deformation, with the armor’s integrity preserved.

The B6 Stopgun V2.0 package provides protection against AK-47, R1, and R5 rifles. It includes 38 mm ballistic glass, reinforced doors, roof, and pillars, along with suspension upgrades and the option to add gun ports and radiator protection.

The conversion is fully approved by Toyota, takes three weeks, and can be ordered directly through dealers. The SVI-armored Hilux remains a popular choice for law-enforcement and security companies.
