Consumer Reports: Jeep reliability—Gladiator up, Wrangler lags

Consumer Reports regularly studies vehicle reliability, drawing on surveys of hundreds of thousands of motorists who report the problems they encounter while using their cars.

According to the latest Consumer Reports data, the picture for Jeep is discouraging: the brand ranked 19th out of 22 automakers in the organization’s most recent reliability list—slightly ahead of GMC and Cadillac, and a touch behind Volkswagen and Tesla. It’s a sobering result.

At the model level, though, the story is uneven. The Gladiator pickup proved the strongest performer on this metric among Jeep’s offerings, while the Jeep Wrangler trails most of its rivals, including the Ford Bronco and Toyota Land Cruiser. The contrast within the lineup is hard to ignore and quietly underscores how mixed the brand’s dependability looks at the moment.
