Lynk & Co Z20 Flyme Auto 2.5.0 update: what's new and how it compares to the Lynk 20
Lynk & Co has rolled out Flyme Auto 2.5.0 for the Z20, adding auto Guard Mode, sharper navigation and a smarter voice assistant just before the LiDAR-equipped Lynk 20 arrives.
Lynk & Co has begun rolling out a major Flyme Auto 2.5.0 OTA update for the electric Z20. One of the most practical additions is automatic Guard Mode activation: owners can set home and work locations where the system won’t arm itself. The car also gains eight additional hazard-warning scenarios.
Navigation has been upgraded too. The Z20 can now display traffic light signals not just at the nearest intersection but at the next one as well, launch routes faster without an extra step of picking between options, and automatically open the map after the car starts. The warning system now also covers situations such as hard braking ahead and a slow-moving vehicle in front.
The voice assistant now keeps context within a single conversation, and the number of commands it can recognize offline has grown by roughly 20%, according to Lynk & Co. A new one-button rest mode has also arrived, dimming the central screen, instrument cluster, HUD and cabin lighting while leaving only the clock visible. The music side gained HiFi/Hi-Res support in NetEase Cloud Music, online lyrics and a few smaller tweaks.
The timing of the update is notable. Lynk & Co is already preparing the Lynk 20, which the company had planned to unveil in the third quarter of 2026. Built as an evolution of the Z20, it will get LiDAR, an 800-volt architecture and charging power of up to 6C. That means the 2.5.0 firmware keeps the current Z20 competitive on interface and features, but the hardware capabilities of the upcoming model simply can’t be added through software.
