2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid: Heisman Campaign Role, e-POWER Specs and US Launch Timing
Nissan's 2027 Rogue Hybrid joins the Heisman campaign, but the automaker is saving its market debut for later.
On September 4, Nissan kicks off a new season of its American Heisman campaign, but the most interesting vehicle won't appear right away. The Rogue, Pathfinder and Frontier are already featured in the first spots, while the all-new 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will arrive later alongside Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza. Nissan's official announcement states this directly.
There's no technical premiere here. Nissan confirmed the Rogue e-POWER's arrival in the US market back in spring. In April, the company detailed that the 2027 model will get third-generation e-POWER with dual electric motors driving all four wheels. In this setup, the gasoline engine generates electricity while the electric motors turn the wheels. The Rogue Hybrid's first official showing came at Nissan Vision.
The August 28 news offers a different signal: Nissan has already woven the upcoming crossover into a major campaign that will run throughout the entire college football season. The main 30-second spots kick off September 4 on ABC, ESPN, Fox, NBC and Amazon, while longer episodes roll out on YouTube.
The format itself is changing after 15 years of Heisman House: instead of standalone sketches, Nissan is running a serialized storyline in which past trophy winners compete for the title of the brand's top representative. The Rogue Platinum went to Tim Tebow, the Frontier PRO-4X to Travis Hunter, and the Pathfinder to Derrick Henry.
The Rogue Hybrid stands out from that lineup: it's the only vehicle in the campaign whose full market debut is still ahead. However, Nissan hasn't used the ad rollout to reveal power output, fuel economy or price. So this appearance in the Heisman campaign shouldn't be read as a new technical reveal — it's more of a checkpoint on the road to the crossover's US launch later in 2026.
