Corvette Z06 and ZR1 pulled from inventory after recall
Chevrolet has temporarily pulled the Corvette Z06 and ZR1 from its online inventory tool, effectively stopping new sales of its top-performing models. The move follows a recall and stop-sale order impacting 2023–2026 vehicles over a potential fire hazard during refueling.
According to recall campaign N252514930, excess fuel spilled into the filler pocket could come into contact with the left-side radiator and fan assembly, posing a fire risk. To address the issue, GM has instructed dealers to install a shield redirecting spilled fuel away from ignition sources. Dealers were notified on August 21.
The action applies only to the Z06 and ZR1, while other Corvette variants remain listed: 1,743 Stingrays and 815 E-Rays are currently available across the US.
The Corvette Z06 is powered by the naturally aspirated 5.5L LT6 V8 producing 670 hp and 460 lb-ft — the most powerful NA V8 in a production car. The Corvette ZR1 builds on it with a twin-turbo 5.5L LT7, pushing output to 1,064 hp and 828 lb-ft of torque.
Both models ride on GM’s Y2 platform and are assembled at the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant.
