Nissan PIXO 2026: reveal date, specifications and price
Nissan has confirmed the PIXO name and a 23 September 2026 reveal. Twingo figures of 27.5 kWh and 263 km WLTP remain only a reference for now.
The 2026 Nissan PIXO is now official in name. Nissan has confirmed the return of the familiar badge for its new fully electric A-segment car and scheduled the full reveal for 23 September 2026. The car will be built in Europe for the European market.
This is an important clarification for the project. On 1 September, the prototype was still being referred to in media reports as the Nissan Wave, while the name remained unconfirmed. That uncertainty is now gone: the same test electric car has received the official PIXO name.
What Nissan has already confirmed about the PIXO
The Renault connection is not a rumour. On 31 March 2025, Renault Group officially said that Ampere would develop and manufacture an A-segment derivative of the Renault Twingo for Nissan, while Nissan itself would create the exterior design.
Nissan PIXO specifications: for now, only reference points
The Spanish report behind the latest claims gets ahead of the official information on specifications. The related Renault Twingo does use a 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor, a 27.5 kWh usable LFP battery and offers up to 263 km of WLTP range. But Nissan has not said that the PIXO will receive these figures unchanged. The company promises more details on 23 September.
Another useful reference is a closely related Renault Group model. The new Dacia Spring, unveiled on 8 September, is built on the RG-EV Small architecture and uses a 27.5 kWh usable battery, yet its official range is 250 km WLTP and power is 60 kW. Even closely related hardware therefore does not guarantee identical figures. The new Spring is useful as a benchmark, not as a ready-made PIXO specification.
Nissan PIXO price has not been announced yet
Nissan has not announced the price either. For reference, the Renault Twingo officially starts at €19,490. Nissan's positioning of the PIXO as an affordable model should therefore be treated as positioning rather than a published price.
The main questions for the 23 September premiere are the final dimensions, battery, range and price. Those figures will show how much the PIXO differs from the Twingo and the new Spring, beyond its bodywork and badges.
