Massimo Mini Truck: price, 125cc engine, top speed and dimensions
The Massimo Mini Truck is a two-seat 125cc recreational go-kart with 9 hp, a 28 mph top speed and a $2699.99 U.S. price.
For $2699.99 in the United States, buyers can now get a two-seat pickup lookalike that only resembles a road vehicle. Massimo itself classifies the Mini Truck as a go-kart, and its mechanical package is close to the recreational Mini 125.
According to Massimo's official specifications, the single-cylinder four-stroke 125 cc engine produces 9 hp. It is paired with a three-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse. The equipment list also includes four spring shock absorbers, a digital instrument panel, LED lighting and two water-resistant seats.
Tractor Supply lists several more key figures. Top speed is 28 mph, or about 45 km/h. Length is approximately 1.93 m, width 1.03 m, curb weight 158 kg, and maximum load is limited to 136 kg. Despite the off-road styling, ground clearance is only about 89 mm.
The price gap is also notable. Massimo lists the Mini Truck at $2999, while Tractor Supply offers it for $2699.99. That is a difference of almost 10%. On Massimo's own website, the Mini Truck is currently marked sold out.
Massimo is not alone in putting unconventional machinery under car-like bodywork. The Genesis Box Buggy follows a similar idea for closed-course use, although the Korean concept is far more technically complex.
The Massimo is much simpler: it is a recreational gasoline-powered go-kart for two people aged 16 and older, not a scaled-down road car. Hydraulic disc brakes, headlights and turn signals make it look more like a full-size vehicle, but the manufacturer positions the Mini Truck specifically as a recreational go-kart.
