Hyundai Tucson 2027 specifications: engines, hybrid, interior and sales
The 2027 Hyundai Tucson gets a 193 hp 1.6 turbo, a 245 hp hybrid, Pleos Connect with up to a 17-inch display, improved aerodynamics and expanded safety systems.
The 2027 Hyundai Tucson has filled in the key technical details that were missing from its debut. The gasoline version uses a 1.6-liter turbo engine rated at 193 hp with an 8-speed automatic, while the new hybrid delivers a combined 245 hp. Hyundai quotes a combined 17.4 km/L for the Korean-spec hybrid, equal to roughly 5.75 L/100 km. That figure applies to the Korean specification and should not be transferred directly to future European versions.
This was the part of the launch that was still missing in August. At that stage, the new Tucson was already known to measure 4,700 mm long with a 2,785 mm wheelbase and 29 mm more rear headroom, but Hyundai had not yet disclosed the powertrains.
The cabin details are now clearer as well. The Tucson is Hyundai's first SUV with Pleos Connect. Depending on trim, it uses a 16:9 central display measuring 12.9 or 17 inches, while frequently used functions retain physical buttons. The system integrates the generative Gleo AI assistant and the Pleos App Market. Hyundai introduced the broader digital platform earlier in the spring.
There is also a less obvious engineering change. Although the body has grown, Hyundai reduced the drag coefficient Cd from 0.33 to 0.30, an improvement of about 9%. That refers to the coefficient itself, not to an equal reduction in total aerodynamic drag, because the vehicle's frontal area has also increased. The result came from changes to the rear spoiler, the shape of the 17-inch wheels and bumpers, plus active air shutters.
The safety package has expanded too. All versions are listed with unintended-acceleration mitigation, front automatic braking for parking situations and nine airbags. A separate backup power circuit can unlock the doors even if the main electrical system is disabled after a collision. Memory Reverse Assist records the path already traveled and, when reversing, automatically controls the steering to help retrace it.
Hyundai will announce prices in October, when sales are also due to begin in South Korea. The next key step will be the release of regional specifications and pricing for markets outside the model's home country.
