Bentley Nicolaus Copernicus Collection: three one-off Continental GT S and GTC S cars
Bentley Warsaw and Mulliner created three one-off Continental GT S and GTC S cars inspired by Copernicus: the Sun, Earth and Moon. Each uses the 680 PS hybrid V8.
Three cars and no repeats: Bentley Warsaw and Mulliner have created the Nicolaus Copernicus Collection — a Continental GTC S called “Sun” and two Continental GT S cars named “Earth” and “Moon”. Each is a true one-off, and, as Bentley Warsaw and Bentley Katowice head Piotr Jędrach confirmed, all three already have owners.
The project was conceived in Poland and took almost two years to complete. The Polish dealer earned the right to develop its own Mulliner collection after placing among Bentley’s three best European dealers. Official distributor Porsche Inter Auto Polska says the concept was developed jointly by the Polish team, Bentley Motors and Mulliner.
The central theme is Copernicus’s heliocentric system. The cabins feature an orbital diagram with eight planets, special embroidery and stitching, welcome-light projections and motifs from the manuscript “On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres”. The trim also includes natural Copper Stone and Galaxy Stone. “Sun” is finished in Manuka Orange, “Earth” in the specially developed Nebula Blue, and “Moon” in silver Moonstruck.
There is no mechanical exclusivity here. The production Continental GT S uses a 4.0-litre V8 as part of the High Performance Hybrid system: officially 680 PS and 930 Nm, 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h.
Bentley is increasingly turning regional projects into standalone collector series. A week earlier, seven Shadow Series cars were unveiled in Japan, but the Polish project goes further: rather than seven variations on one theme, these are three fully individual 1-of-1 cars with different materials and their own visual stories.
Public material on the Nicolaus Copernicus Collection appeared on 21 September, although the private presentation of the three cars in Poland took place on 18 September. Bentley has not disclosed prices, and with every car already owned, the price tags remained part of private commissions rather than a market benchmark.
