Nissan PIXO: 259 km range, 27.5 kWh battery and 50 kW charging
Nissan has revealed the PIXO’s 27.5 kWh LFP battery, 60 kW motor and 259 km WLTP range. Unlike the Twingo, 50 kW DC charging is standard.
Three of the four big unknowns about the Nissan PIXO are now settled. The new city EV has a 27.5 kWh LFP battery, a 60 kW (82 hp) motor and a WLTP range of 259 km. Only the price is still missing — Nissan says it will reveal that together with pre-order terms in December.
Before the premiere, these figures could only be inferred from the related Renault Twingo: as recently as September 9, the main concrete details Nissan had given about the PIXO were its name and debut date. The similarities are now almost fully confirmed. Renault Group said back in 2025 that Ampere would develop and build a Twingo derivative for Nissan, while Nissan itself would create the exterior design.
The key difference is charging. According to Nissan, every PIXO version gets 50 kW DC charging and bidirectional AC charging at 11 kW. The battery can charge from 15% to 80% in about 28 minutes. The related Renault Twingo E-Tech comes with 6.6 kW AC charging as standard, while 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC are offered through the Advanced Charge package. The Renault can travel up to 263 km WLTP — 4 km more than the PIXO.
Nissan has focused on more than the electric powertrain. At 3796 mm long, the car gets two independently sliding rear seats and a 356-litre boot, including a 50-litre cable compartment; with the seats folded, capacity rises to 1221 litres. The cabin features 7- and 10-inch displays, Google built-in, Gemini and Face ID driver recognition.
Renault will build the PIXO at its Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia. Customer deliveries are scheduled to start in early 2027. That makes the next genuinely important number the one due in December: the price will show how far Nissan can separate the PIXO from the Twingo not through design, but through the offer it puts in front of buyers.
