Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9: six-seat interior, battery and range specifications
The Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9 is a 5.27-metre six-seat plug-in hybrid with a 30-inch display, a 66.48 kWh battery and more than 1,600 km of total range.
BYD has shown the production interior of the Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9 ahead of sales in China in the fourth quarter. The 5270 mm flagship uses a 2+2+2 six-seat layout and features a 30-inch central display, a separate digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, wireless charging pads and a refrigerator.
The second row has two individual captain's chairs, while rear passengers get a folding screen, tables and their own control panel. Despite its off-road positioning, the Ti 9 is a large unibody crossover rather than a body-on-frame SUV. It is equipped with DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic suspension and rear-wheel steering. Fang Cheng Bao positions it as a large family SUV for both urban use and trips beyond paved roads.
The plug-in hybrid uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors. Each motor has a peak output of 200 kW, for 400 kW across the two electric motors. That figure should not be treated as the system output of the complete hybrid powertrain, because BYD has not separately disclosed a combined PHEV figure.
A 66.48 kWh battery provides a claimed 310 km of electric range on the WLTC cycle. Current Chinese information on the Ti 9 puts total range at more than 1600 km. A previously circulated 2300 km figure is therefore best avoided, as is the claim of charging from 10 to 97% in nine minutes, which was not separately confirmed for the Ti 9 in the latest disclosure.
Within Fang Cheng Bao's fast-growing range, the Ti 9 becomes the brand's flagship SUV. The marque recently launched the electric Formula S and S GT and is now preparing to top its SUV line with a large six-seat PHEV.
