Nio Banyan 2.4.2 update for Europe: GPT in NOMI, smarter navigation and charging
Nio has released the Banyan 2.4.2 software update for its electric models, tailored specifically to the European market. It is the company’s nineteenth FOTA update and adds to a running tally of more than 450 improvements since the platform launched in 2022.
The spotlight falls on the NOMI intelligent system, which now uses GPT technologies to handle a wider range of everyday queries. It can respond to questions about culture, fashion, and health. Navigation also gets sharper: a new Turn-Bubble indicator shows the next direction and street name, and the system interprets road restrictions more precisely. Together, these tweaks aim to reduce hesitation at junctions and make guidance feel more natural.
Charging sees practical gains as well. Vehicles now display charging power with greater accuracy and communicate more smoothly with European Alpitronic stations. The update also adds notifications about external factors that may affect charging speed—useful context when every minute counts.
On the media side, a new Public Value section brings access to more than a hundred German radio stations. Taken together, the refinements lift everyday convenience and functionality, leaving Nio among the standout electric cars for city use in terms of technology integration and overall user experience.
