Hyundai unveils Elantra N TCR Edition and Ioniq 5 N at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show
At the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show, Hyundai unveiled two fresh entries from its N performance stable — the Elantra N TCR Edition sedan and the all-electric Ioniq 5 N crossover.
The Elantra N TCR Edition is built with track performance front and center. It carries a 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI engine producing 280 hp, 19-inch TCR-style wheels, and a suite of sporty exterior details. Inside, Alcantara trim meets signature N accents. The specification signals a clear lap-time focus without losing everyday appeal.
The electric Ioniq 5 N uses two motors delivering up to 650 hp in NGB mode, sending it from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. Its CLTC range reaches 566 km, while the 800V system can charge the battery to 80% in about 18 minutes. On paper, those figures put it firmly among the quicker and more usable electric crossovers.
Together, the pair highlights Hyundai’s drive to blend performance with advanced tech. The Elantra N targets drivers who enjoy pace and track days, while the Ioniq 5 N showcases the promise of electric performance cars and looks ready to vie for a place among 2025’s standout dynamic electric crossovers.
