MINI Countryman Untamed 2027: ground clearance, €4700 price and European restrictions
The 2027 MINI Countryman Untamed adds a 15 mm suspension lift, up to 19 mm more clearance, all-terrain tires and retuned electronics. In Europe, the raised chassis is reserved for EVs.
A 15 mm suspension lift gives the MINI Countryman Untamed Edition up to 19 mm of additional ground clearance, depending on the market and powertrain. MINI has now confirmed the figure after a series of teasers for the more off-road-focused Countryman. The production version also gets dedicated tires and retuned electronics, but Europe has an important limitation: the raised chassis is offered only on fully electric versions.
MINI's official release confirms the production specification. Along with the higher suspension, engineers recalibrated ABS, the DSC stability-control system and the steering to suit the revised chassis geometry and Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires.
Claims that all Untamed models come with all-wheel drive also need qualification. Depending on the market, the range includes the Countryman C, D and E as well as the all-wheel-drive S ALL4 and SE ALL4. The Untamed badge therefore does not turn every Countryman into an ALL4. In the United States and Canada, the offer is limited to the S ALL4 and SE ALL4, and the raised suspension is fitted across the local range. In Europe, the extra ground clearance is reserved for the fully electric versions.
Tire equipment also differs by region. Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires are standard in North America, while European buyers must pay extra for them. With the optional tow hitch, the Countryman can tow up to 2000 kg. The roof is rated for up to 75 kg while driving and up to 300 kg when parked, allowing use of the rooftop tent developed with AUTOHOME.
In Germany, the Untamed Edition costs an additional €4700. Production at BMW Group's Leipzig plant is scheduled to begin in November 2026, with market launch planned for early 2027.
The key difference between Untamed and many off-road-style appearance packages is that the changes go beyond trim and wheels. The increase in clearance is modest, but MINI has genuinely changed the suspension, electronic calibrations and tires. European buyers who specifically want the raised Countryman, however, will have to choose an electric powertrain.
