A seat belt that looks normal can still have a fault the driver cannot spot. Cupra is recalling 10,151 Terramar and Raval vehicles worldwide because the front belts on some cars may have been incorrectly secured at the lower anchorage point. In Germany, the campaign covers 1,936 vehicles.

The risk becomes most important in a crash. An incorrect attachment can reduce the belt’s restraining performance even though the belt may look normal and buckle correctly. Germany’s KBA registered the recall as 17072R, while Cupra uses internal code 69C8.

The campaign covers Terramar and Raval vehicles built from June 7, 2025, through September 3, 2026. Being inside that production window does not automatically mean a particular car is affected: recall applicability is determined by VIN.

An authorized workshop must inspect both front seat belts and replace affected components if necessary. According to information published with reference to the KBA, no injuries or property damage linked to the defect have been recorded so far. Repair time has not been separately announced.

Owners should therefore check the VIN rather than rely only on the build date. An authorized Cupra service center can verify the car using KBA campaign number 17072R or Cupra code 69C8. This is also useful for used cars, because a previous owner may already have had the repair completed and the lower anchorage cannot be reliably assessed by a simple visual inspection.

Service details: KBA 17072R, Cupra code 69C8, contact number 06150 1079991. The prescribed remedy is inspection of both front seat belts and replacement where required. A precise timetable for owner notification letters has not been published in the available material.
