Chinese brand AITO, created by Seres together with Huawei, is preparing to move from showcasing cars in Europe to selling them there. According to Cailian on October 12, the company plans to enter the European Union market in 2027 and has already begun work on European WVTA certification. Later the same day at the Paris Motor Show, a more specific target was given: autumn 2027. The exact sales start date and the first countries have not yet been announced.

For AITO, this marks a clear shift in approach. Back in 2024, the brand brought the AITO 5, 7 and 9 crossovers to the Paris Motor Show, and in 2025 it took part in IAA Mobility in Munich. At that stage, the vehicles were used mainly to introduce the brand to European audiences. Now the focus has moved to the certification work required for market access.

At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, AITO is displaying four SUVs: the AITO 6, 7, 8 and 9. The show runs from October 12 to 18, and the brand's stand is located in Hall 5.3. The presence of all four models at the show does not mean that each one will necessarily go on sale in Europe.

The WVTA procedure checks whether a vehicle complies with EU requirements needed for type approval. Once a vehicle type receives approval in one EU country, that approved type can be placed on the markets of other EU member states without repeating the full set of tests. Starting the procedure itself does not mean approval has been granted.

Seres already has experience outside China: in 2023 the company delivered the first Seres 5 vehicles to Norway, and in February 2026 AITO signed an agreement with Performance Plus Motors, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Motors, covering vehicle sales and service in the UAE. A European launch for the AITO brand itself would become the next stage of its international expansion.

The manufacturer has not yet publicly specified which crossovers will reach European dealers first, how much they will cost or how the service network will be organized. The next confirmations of the plan should be type-approval documents, a list of launch countries and agreements with local partners. Until those details appear, autumn 2027 remains a company target rather than a fixed sales start date.
