Jeep Wrangler Switchback 2027: price, colors and Rubicon X equipment
The limited Wrangler Switchback is based on Rubicon X, mixes Gloss Black and Sting-Gray panels, and costs $66,695 as a two-door in the US.
The new Jeep Wrangler Switchback looks as if its doors and hood came from another vehicle. That is not an assembly mistake but a deliberate factory process. Wranglers in Gloss Black and Sting-Gray are sent down the assembly line in sequence, then their doors are swapped between vehicles. The hoods are exchanged later at an upfit center. Jeep used the process to create the final special edition in its Twelve 4 Twelve program celebrating the brand's 85-year history.
According to Stellantis' official announcement dated October 12, the Switchback is based on the Wrangler Rubicon X and will be offered with two or four doors. The package costs $2,870.
The full US MSRP is $66,695 for the two-door SUV and $69,995 for the four-door. Both prices include the Switchback package and the $1,995 US destination charge. The difference between the body styles is $3,300.
The design combines Gloss Black and Sting-Gray with bright Gecko green accents. They appear on the grille surround, hood graphic, tailgate and beadlock wheel rings. The cabin combines Global Black and Sea Salt Nappa leather with contrasting Pearl and Lime stitching.
Off-road hardware remains serious: the Switchback gets 35-inch all-terrain tires, a Rock-Trac four-wheel-drive system and electronic Tru-Lok locking front and rear differentials. For comparison, the anniversary Wrangler JL-2A uses 33-inch tires. The two special editions are based on different trims, however: Switchback starts with Rubicon X, while JL-2A is based on Rubicon, so this is not a line-wide Wrangler upgrade.
US orders for the Switchback open in November 2026, and production will be limited. The special edition is aimed primarily at North America: Jeep has already stopped taking new Wrangler orders in Europe, and a 2027 model year is not planned for the European market. Jeep has not announced Switchback availability in other regions.
