The anniversary 2027 Nissan Pathfinder seats seven instead of eight because it has two individual second-row seats. The 40th-anniversary edition brings Bose audio, a panoramic roof and standard equipment for towing up to 2.72 tonnes. It costs $4,600 more than the front-wheel-drive SL.

Nissan unveiled the Special Edition on October 19, 2026. The US price is $47,390 with front-wheel drive or $49,390 with all-wheel drive. The entry-level 2027 Pathfinder SV starts at $39,990. Taxes, options and dealer charges are excluded.

A mandatory $1,575 destination fee raises the Special Edition prices to $48,965 and $50,965 respectively. The front-wheel-drive SL costs $42,790 before delivery, precisely $4,600 less than the anniversary model.

Equipment includes black 20-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, rear-door sunshades and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. The standard towing package permits a trailer weighing up to 6,000 lb (approximately 2,722 kg); without the appropriate equipment, the Pathfinder is rated for up to 3,500 lb (1,588 kg).

The compromise is seating capacity. Separate second-row captain’s chairs replace the three-person bench. Seven people can travel in total, including the driver, rather than eight. Families needing every seat should note the difference.

The design recalls the original Pathfinder, introduced in 1986 as a 1987 model. Burgundy and black TailorFit upholstery references the early SUV, while red exterior details and special PATHFINDER tailgate lettering complete the treatment.

Nissan’s vice president of product planning for the US and Canada, Marco Fioravanti, said that Pathfinder had combined family practicality with a spirit of adventure for 40 years. The Special Edition celebrates that heritage and its customers.

The mechanical basis remains familiar: Nissan lists a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 developing 284 US hp (approximately 288 metric hp) and 351 Nm for the regular 2027 Pathfinder. A nine-speed automatic is fitted, with front- or all-wheel drive available.

However, Nissan’s marketing page for the Special Edition quotes 295 US hp, whereas its main technical material specifies 284 hp. The higher output is ordinarily associated with the Rock Creek. Until Nissan clarifies the discrepancy, 295 hp should not be treated as a confirmed specification of this edition.

The Pathfinder Special Edition is scheduled to reach US dealers in November 2026. It has no exclusive engine or fundamentally different transmission, but combines heritage styling, richer equipment and towing ability while giving up the eighth seat.
