Toyota Land Cruiser 250 gains official round LED headlight retrofit
Toyota offers round LED headlight retrofits for eligible Land Cruiser 250 VX models in Japan for 204,600 yen, including fitting.
Owners of the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 in Japan can now change the SUV’s appearance after purchase. Toyota has launched an official service replacing the standard rectangular-style lights with round LED headlights. The upgrade costs 204,600 yen, including parts, Japanese consumption tax and dealer labor. Eligibility depends on trim and production date.
Toyota announced the initiative on October 21, 2026. The service is listed in Toyota Upgrade Factory, managed by KINTO on the automaker’s behalf. Unlike aftermarket tuning, it uses genuine components fitted at an authorized dealership. Eligible owners no longer need to specify round headlights when ordering their vehicle.
The round lamps recall classic Land Cruiser generations. A similar look was previously offered on selected Land Cruiser 250 versions, but the program now allows customization after delivery. This is not a simple bulb or trim replacement: the front lighting units themselves are changed.
Installation involves removing sections of the front bumper, fitting genuine light assemblies and programming electronic control units (ECUs). Authorized Toyota dealers carry out the work. Toyota emphasizes factory-quality parts designed for the vehicle. Customers must check their particular vehicle’s eligibility before ordering.
The offer applies to certain Japanese-market Land Cruiser 250 VX vehicles built from April 2024 onward. Eligible examples include some built between April 2024 and March 2026, as well as versions produced after the April 2026 update. VX trim alone does not guarantee compatibility; individual vehicle details must be checked.
Toyota has also introduced a retrofit Gen5 smartphone wireless charger for 28,600 yen, including tax and installation. Its charging area is twice that of the previous Gen4 unit, reducing interruptions when a phone moves while driving. The device supports Qi wireless charging, including faster modes on compatible smartphones.
The charger has its own eligibility restrictions, so customers must verify model, production date and equipment. Toyota says both existing owners and eligible subscription-vehicle users may access the program, subject to its terms.
The initiative expands factory-backed personalization after a vehicle is sold. Round lights change the Land Cruiser 250’s character without aftermarket headlamp suppliers, while Gen5 adds convenience. Both services currently apply to eligible vehicles in Japan; prices and availability elsewhere have not been announced.
