Rivian R1TX concept: a snow-ready redesign of the EV pickup
American EV maker Rivian, best known for the R1S SUV and R1T pickup, has sparked designer Nicolas Herrera (known online as nicolash.design) to dream up the striking R1TX concept. Unofficial it may be, but the execution is so convincing that it’s easy to picture the truck tackling Alaska’s snowbound roads.
Herrera preserves Rivian’s signature DNA while dialing up the muscle and drama. The pickup sits wider and lower, with a reworked face that pairs vertical LED headlights with a full-width light bar and a pixel-style grille. An integrated winch, recovery hooks, and a metal skid plate underscore its readiness for harsh conditions, sharpening the stance without blurring the brand’s identity.
The lower bodywork is finished in black, the second-row windows are removed to create a cleaner, monolithic profile, and the tail carries off-road accessories, big black wheels, and all-season tires. It reads less like a flight of fancy and more like a concept made for snowy routes and long, demanding escapes.
