Skoda has introduced a new 272-horsepower plug-in hybrid version of its Superb liftback. In the Netherlands, this model now stands as the brand's most powerful gasoline-powered car on the market.Previously, the Skoda Superb Hatchback and Superb Combi were only available with a 204-hp hybrid system. The new, more powerful version is offered exclusively for the Hatchback body style and comes in the Sportline Business trim.This version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, which is roughly one second quicker than the 204-hp variant. It has a top speed of 225 km/h and a weight of 1,747 kg. For towing, it can handle a maximum trailer weight of 1,800 kg, matching other Superb models.The hybrid system features a battery with a usable capacity of 19.7 kWh. This allows for an electric-only driving range of up to 131 km. While fast charging at up to 50 kW is supported, the manufacturer notes a more typical rate is around 40 kW.Pricing for the 272-hp Skoda Superb Hatchback Plug-in Hybrid starts at €50,990. The more affordable 204-hp hybrid is available in the Edition trim from €42,990 or the Business Edition from €45,490.
