Skoda Epiq makes its move: a small electric SUV with grown-up ambitions

Skoda hasn't dragged its feet on the Epiq launch: the new compact electric crossover already has prices for Spain. The first version to hit the market is the Epiq 55 First Edition — the most powerful and best-equipped trim in the line-up so far.

The key figures look strong for an urban SUV: the electric motor puts out 155 kW, or 210 hp, the usable NMC battery capacity is 51.5 kWh, and range reaches up to 440 km. Charging from 10 to 80% takes 24 minutes. For the buyer, this isn't a «second city car» anymore but a vehicle you can comfortably take well beyond your daily commute.

The Epiq First Edition stands out inside and out. Orange accents on the mirrors, mouldings, wheels and bumpers, a contrasting black roof, a darkened badge, a sporty steering wheel, red stitching, a black headliner, chrome pedals and decorative sill plates.

Equipment isn't basic either. Standard kit includes Travel Assist 3.0, Front Assist with emergency braking, Side Assist, rear cross-traffic alert and lane-keeping. The Convenience package adds heated steering wheel and front seats, dual-zone climate control, organisers and a double-floor boot. The Tech package includes front parking sensors, KESSY keyless access, an alarm, a digital key and wireless charging.

By list price, the Epiq 55 Urban costs €33,100, Selection — €36,100, First Edition — €38,600. With discounts and government incentives, prices come down to €22,800, €25,200 and €27,600 respectively.

The simpler Epiq 35 and Epiq 40 will arrive later — from late 2026 to early 2027. Skoda clearly wants to claim the niche first, before the Volkswagen ID. Cross arrives: in this class, what matters isn't just the badge but the combination of price, real-world range and the feeling that you're not driving a stripped-back EV but a proper small Skoda.
