Zeekr 8X Yaoying 2026: price, specs and range of the tri-motor flagship

At the Chengdu Auto Show, our correspondent photographed the Zeekr 8X Yaoying — the flagship trim of the automaker’s big hybrid crossover. This version turns the family-friendly 8X into something close to a supercar: three electric motors produce a combined 1,030 kW, or roughly 1,400 hp, and the sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes just 2.96 seconds.

The regular Zeekr 8X debuted and went on sale back in spring, so calling the Chengdu appearance a premiere would be a stretch. Pricing across the lineup in China runs from 356,800 to 500,800 yuan (about $49,300 to $69,500), with the Yaoying topping the range at 500,800 yuan. Under limited-time incentives, the flagship’s price has dropped as low as 473,800 yuan, or roughly $65,500.

The Yaoying stands apart from the rest of the 8X range in more than just output. It gets its own grille design, a carbon-fiber aero kit, 22-inch forged wheels, six-piston Brembo brakes, an active rear wing and 315mm-wide rear tires. SPEEDME’s photos clearly show the matte body finish, black trim and bright orange brake calipers. This variant measures 5,108 x 2,026 x 1,780 mm, with a 3,069 mm wheelbase.

Underneath is the SEA-S architecture built around a 900V high-voltage system. The 2.0T gasoline engine produces 205 kW, while the flagship trim adds three electric motors — one up front and two at the rear. The electric side alone delivers 1,030 kW, and the Yaoying’s claimed torque reaches 1,410 Nm.

A 70 kWh battery pack provides up to 330 km (205 miles) of electric-only range on the CLTC cycle, with total range reaching 1,210 km (752 miles). Thanks to 6C charging support, topping up from 20% to 80% takes just 9 minutes. Standard 8X versions max out at 410 km (255 miles) of electric range, with a combined total of 1,416 km (880 miles).

The chassis is far from ordinary-family-crossover territory too. Equipment includes dual-chamber air suspension, twin-valve adaptive dampers, 48V active anti-roll bars, 13 drive modes and an infrared night-vision system. Claimed wading depth is 500 mm.

Inside, though, Zeekr hasn’t abandoned the 8X’s role as a premium family vehicle. It comes with a 16-inch 3.5K OLED display, a 44-inch AR head-up display and a 29-speaker, 3,868-watt Naim sound system. Passengers get ventilated, heated and massaging seats, a 17-inch rear OLED screen, a built-in fridge and power-operated sunshades. The Yaoying stands out with a black-and-red interior, a mix of Nappa leather and Alcantara, and carbon-fiber trim.

The top-spec driver-assistance suite relies on five lidar units and two Nvidia Thor-U chips delivering a combined 1,400 TOPS. The G-ASD 4.0 system supports an advanced H9 mode with navigate-on-autopilot capability from parking spot to parking spot.

In the end, the Zeekr 8X Yaoying shown in Chengdu is interesting less as just another Chinese debut and more as a demonstration of a new market extreme: a five-meter premium SUV that offers a spacious cabin, 330 km of gasoline-free driving and the acceleration of a full-blown supercar, all at once.
