Acura revives RSX as an all-electric crossover on the Honda 0 platform

Acura is officially bringing back the RSX name, but it’s no longer the 2000s-era coupe: this time it’s a fully electric crossover riding on the new Honda 0 platform. The premium newcomer is slated for 2026 and aims to be the brand’s key response to the swelling demand for sporty electric SUVs.

The prototype already shown hints at an assertive look: a long wheelbase, short overhangs, a sloping roof, an integrated spoiler, and performance touches like Brembo brakes. That silhouette promises a spacious cabin and a dynamic character.

The RSX will be the first model built at Honda’s new EV cluster in Ohio. Moving to a single line for combustion, hybrid, and electric models serves the main goal—flexibility. The car is already testing on U.S. roads, and fresh images caught it charging at a Tesla Supercharger with a NACS port. That suggests charging access shouldn’t be a headache, something future EV owners tend to value.

Technical details remain under wraps. Officially confirmed are two electric motors with all-wheel drive and an advanced double-wishbone suspension. Engineers promise a low center of gravity and handling on a sports-car level—an ambitious claim, yet one that fits Acura’s character. The electric crossover will also be able to power household appliances and even a home.

Inside, a new ASIMO OS debuts, designed to learn the driver’s habits. The RSX is set to compete with the Tesla Model Y, Cadillac Optiq, and Volvo EX30. The bet on a more emotional design and a dedicated platform looks like a smart way to stand out, especially if the driving range doesn’t disappoint.
