Hyundai Ioniq 3 spy photos: an affordable Aero Hatch EV

Hyundai is expanding the Ioniq family: after the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, a camouflaged Ioniq 3 has been spotted on public roads. Judging by the spy photos, it’s set to be the most attainable EV in the lineup, with a preliminary starting price of about €35,000.

Although the bodywork is still hidden under camouflage, the connection to the Three concept shown at the Munich auto show is already visible. For Hyundai, it’s a familiar playbook: debut a bold concept, then launch a production car that preserves the key design cues. At the same time, the Ioniq 3 is shaping up with its own personality and a fresh design language the company calls Art of Steel.

In terms of format, the newcomer is described as an Aero Hatch—something between a hatchback and a sporty crossover, with a sloping rear window and a pronounced spoiler. The brand’s Parametric Pixel lighting theme, known from other Ioniq models, should remain, albeit in a more personal interpretation.

Dimensionally, the Ioniq 3 will be roughly 4.3 meters long. That’s noticeably larger than the compact Inster and hints at a more mature platform and equipment. Overall, it reads as an effort to bring Ioniq closer to the mainstream: smaller in size and price, yet still carrying the brand’s recognizable technology and style.
