Nissan Gravite: a new three-row MPV for the Indian market
Nissan is set to unveil the Gravite, marking the brand's most significant launch in India in recent years. The new model debuts on February 17 and will enter the compact three-row MPV segment, currently dominated by the Renault Triber. Built on the CMF-A+ platform, already familiar from alliance models, Nissan has added its own design touches, including C-shaped LED headlights, a bold grille, protective cladding, and a redesigned rear with floating taillights.
Inside, the Gravite features a seven-seat layout with a flat floor and a foldable third row. The second row promises enhanced comfort thanks to sliding and reclining mechanisms. With the rear seats folded, the cargo space is expected to be among the best in its class.
In terms of equipment, the Gravite stands out from typical budget offerings. It comes with a digital instrument cluster, multimedia system with wireless smartphone integration, climate control, rear air vents, and push-button start. Higher-end versions are likely to include a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and telematics services.
The engine lineup includes two variants of a 1.0-liter petrol unit—naturally aspirated and turbocharged. Transmission options are a five-speed manual or AMT, with a factory-fitted CNG version possibly arriving later.
Projected pricing starts at around 5,500 euros, with top trims reaching 12,000 to 13,000 euros. Overall, the Gravite aims to provide an affordable option for families seeking a three-row vehicle without stepping into a more expensive MPV category.
