New 2026 Buick Electra Encasa BEV: electric MPV details and specs

The SAIC-GM joint venture has officially unveiled the new 2026 Buick Electra Encasa BEV, a fully electric version of the flagship MPV under the Electra sub-brand. This model complements the existing hybrid variant and is scheduled to go on sale in China in March.

The Encasa BEV retains the design of the PHEV version but features unique trim elements and a two-tone matte body finish called "Matte Gray." The manufacturer emphasizes that this paint job is applied using 112 robotic stations and a multi-layer coating process, targeting the premium segment.

While full technical specifications have not been officially disclosed, it is known that the minivan will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 482 kW (646 hp), making it the most powerful MPV in GM's lineup.

The Electra Encasa BEV will be manufactured and sold exclusively in China, where the premium MPV segment continues to show steady growth.
