Peugeot Goes All In: Seven New Cars, and Not Just Electric Ones
Under the Stellantis FaSTLAne 2030 plan, Peugeot becomes one of four global brands and gets seven new models across the B, C and D segments by 2030.
Peugeot is set to become one of the leading marques under Stellantis’ new FaSTLAne 2030 plan. The group has singled out Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and Fiat as its four global brands, and the French marque will receive seven new models before the end of the decade.
The Stellantis plan is backed by an investment of 60 billion euros — roughly $69.3 billion. With that money the group is preparing more than 60 new cars and around 50 updates, but Peugeot is handed a special role in the B, C and D segments.
In the B segment, new generations of the Peugeot 208 and 2008 will appear. They will be fully electric, but they will not immediately replace today’s combustion versions: the petrol and hybrid variants will continue to sell alongside them. It is an important pivot away from the «electric only» idea toward a more flexible approach, one that leaves buyers a choice on price, charging and how they use the car.
In the C segment, Peugeot is preparing three new models on the STLA One platform. They will be multi-energy: mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric versions are all expected. Among them will be a new C-SUV — the most important format for the European market.
China is a story of its own. There, together with Dongfeng, Peugeot is readying a D-segment model with a shooting-brake body, previewed by the Peugeot Concept 6. For the marque it is a chance not merely to refresh the line-up, but to become visible again in a place where European brands have long ceded ground to local players.
