Ram 1500 REV 2027: launch timing, 647 hp and 690-mile range
Stellantis has pushed Jeep Grand Wagoneer EREV production to November 2026 and Ram 1500 REV to April 2027, while Ram’s website still says 2026.
Ram’s first EREV pickup has moved farther away from buyers again. According to Automotive News, an updated supplier schedule now calls for Jeep Grand Wagoneer EREV production to begin in November 2026 instead of May, while the Ram 1500 REV is not due to enter production until mid-April 2027. That amounts to a delay of about six months for the Jeep and roughly nine months for the Ram compared with the previous mid-2026 target. Representatives for both brands separately confirmed broader timing: Jeep in 2026 and Ram in 2027.
Ram’s own public information has not yet caught up with the new schedule. As of a September 4 check, the official Ram 1500 REV page still lists “Projected Availability 2026” twice. The same page lists a 92 kWh battery, a 130 kW generator and a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. The gasoline engine produces mechanical energy that the generator converts into electricity, while electric motors drive the wheels. Maximum output is listed at 647 hp, with total driving range of up to 690 miles, or about 1110 km.
No specific fault has officially been named as the reason for the latest delay. Two executives at supplier companies told Automotive News that the extra time is needed for a smoother launch of the shared new powertrain. The Grand Wagoneer and REV use a layout with a 400-volt battery, a V6 and a separate generator; the internal-combustion engine does not drive the wheels directly.
Ram’s story is especially complicated because of the name changes. The range-extended pickup was originally called Ramcharger, while REV referred to the battery-electric model. After Stellantis dropped the battery-electric REV, the REV name moved to the EREV model. The now-vacant Ramcharger name is being linked to a future full-size Ram SUV that is also expected to offer a gasoline-generator version.
Stellantis therefore is not cancelling either of the two vehicles, but it is pushing back a key US launch of its new EREV technology. The next verifiable milestone is November: if the Grand Wagoneer really enters production on the revised schedule, it will effectively serve as the first real-world proving ground for the shared architecture about five months before the Ram 1500 REV.
