Li Auto i9 2026: range, battery, dimensions and launch date

The new Li Auto i9 has a wheelbase 43 mm longer than the L9 Livis even though the electric SUV itself is 30 mm shorter than the flagship range-extender. The i9 measures 5225×1970×1752 mm with a 3168 mm wheelbase, versus 5255 mm in length and 3125 mm between the axles for the new L9. Li Auto is turning the packaging benefits of a dedicated electric architecture into one of the model’s main selling points. The premiere is scheduled for September 16 at 19:30 Beijing time.
The Home version has swivelling “zero-gravity” seats, allowing the second row to face rear passengers. Li Xiang compares the i9 cabin with an expensive city apartment, while the company describes the MEGA Home as a “country villa”. Chinese specialist reports say display cars should reach showrooms as early as September 11.
Much of the hardware has already been disclosed by Chinese regulators. The front motor produces 150 kW and the rear motor 250 kW, for a combined 400 kW, or about 544 hp. MIIT catalogue No. 33 was published on August 13. The public database lists a 101 kWh battery and two versions with 680 and 705 km of CLTC range.
There is also an unusual battery detail. Early i9 vehicles are expected to use CATL 5C packs, but Li Auto plans to switch the model fully to batteries developed in-house once its own production reaches the required scale. The move continues the brand’s effort to reduce its dependence on CATL.
Li Auto has not yet announced the official i9 price. For reference, the new L9 costs 459,800–509,800 yuan in China, while the electric MEGA is priced at 509,800 yuan. That makes roughly 400,000–500,000 yuan a plausible working range for the i9 based on its place in the line-up, but it remains an estimate until the premiere.
