Tesla Accordion Supercharger 2026: V4 power, eight-stall modules and faster installation
Tesla's new Accordion Supercharger combines eight V4 stalls in one factory-prepared module, cuts installation costs by 20% and fits existing parking layouts.
Tesla can now deliver equipment for 16 charging stalls in a single truck. The new Accordion Supercharger arrives in a highly factory-prepared state, while the company says installation costs are reduced by 20% and the hardware can be commissioned almost immediately after connection.
One module combines eight stalls, a V4 power cabinet, wiring and factory-made concrete bases. The main difference from the Folding Unit shown in spring is the installation geometry. The folding blocks were designed primarily for curbside placement, while Accordion can be deployed between existing parking spaces. In other words, Tesla is expanding not so much charging power as the number of sites that can be quickly converted for Supercharger use.
The stalls use the current V4 architecture. Tesla officially specifies up to 500 kW for a passenger car, while one V4 power cabinet can deliver up to 1.2 MW. This power hardware is already operating in Europe: in June, the first full V4 site with up to 500 kW opened in Norway.
The new format also has a logistics advantage: one truck can carry two eight-stall modules. Instead of installing every post and the cable infrastructure on site, a significant share of that work is moved to the factory.
The broader range of formats is especially relevant in Europe, where Supercharger is gradually becoming a network for more than Tesla vehicles. For example, from the fourth quarter of 2026, owners of fully electric Volvo models will gain access through the Volvo app to more than 20,000 European Superchargers. The new Accordion should speed up the physical expansion of the network, especially in already developed parking areas.
