Mercedes-Benz is removing several costly models from its 2027 US range, including the EQE sedan, AMG S63 E Performance and Maybach EQS 680 SUV, while the EQS Sedan remains.

Mercedes-Benz is not carrying several expensive variants into its 2027 model-year US lineup. A company representative confirmed to Car and Driver that the EQE sedan will be absent in both Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG form, along with the AMG S63 E Performance plug-in hybrid and the electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV. The key point is that this concerns the US model range; the statement does not mean all of these vehicles are being discontinued globally.

This does not mean Mercedes is abandoning the EQ family altogether. The regular EQS Sedan remains in the US lineup: Mercedes-Benz USA has already presented the 2027 model and said it will reach dealers in the second half of 2026. At the same time, the brand is gradually moving its electric cars toward more familiar model names. The electric C-Class has already been presented simply as a C-Class, without a separate EQ name, as Mercedes undertakes one of its broadest product renewals in years.

Against that background, the EQE's departure from the US lineup looks like part of a wider reshaping of the electric range rather than an exit from electric sedans. The EQE is still on sale in Europe, while the next step is expected to be an electric E-Class using a more traditional name. The AMG S63 is a different case: for now, only its absence from the 2027 US lineup has been confirmed.
