Changan in Europe: Nevo Q05, Q06, Deepal S07 hybrid and Avatr
Changan will use the Paris Motor Show to broaden its European strategy with the Nevo Q05, technology from the larger Q06, a hybrid Deepal S07 and a stronger Avatr presence.
At Changan’s Paris stand, the main story will not be another update for the already familiar Deepal brand, but a broader expansion of the Chinese group’s European structure. At the show on 12–18 October, Changan plans to put the Nevo Q05 in front of a European audience for the first time, demonstrate technology from the larger Q06, add a hybrid version of the Deepal S07 and continue the European push for premium brand Avatr.
The Nevo Q05 is set to become the first European model from a Changan brand that is new to the region. The compact SUV is about 4.43 metres long with a 2.73-metre wheelbase and will initially be offered as an EV. It uses LFP batteries rated at 40.3 and 51.9 kWh, with claimed CLTC ranges of 405 and 506 km and a 30–80% charge in about 15 minutes. Hybrid versions are expected to follow later.
The larger Nevo Q06 looks even more technology-focused. In China, the 4.84-metre SUV has already gone on sale in battery-electric and range-extender forms. The EV versions use an 800-volt architecture and 6C charging, with the manufacturer claiming 30–80% in nine minutes. LiDAR and the SDA Pilot driver-assistance system are available, while higher trims can receive the more capable SDA Pilot Ultra. The Q06 therefore reaches Paris after a full market launch in China.
The Deepal S07 hybrid will occupy a separate place on the stand. For Europe, it broadens a line-up in which the S07 has so far been promoted mainly as an EV. The hybrid concept itself is not new to the model: in range-extender form, the electric motor drives the wheels while the petrol engine works as a generator to extend driving range.
The third element of the expansion is Avatr. Changan plans to strengthen the presence of its premium brand in Paris; Avatr is developed with technology support from Huawei and CATL and is already part of the group’s European strategy. The stand will therefore show several layers of Changan’s future European line-up: the more mainstream Nevo, the already familiar Deepal and the premium Avatr.
