2027 Lexus NX 350h and 450h+: specifications, charging and electric range
The 2027 Lexus NX 450h+ adds NACS DC charging, a 45-mile US range estimate and 324 hp. European figures exceed 100 km under WLTP.
Lexus has unveiled the updated 2027 NX with redesigned styling, a new cabin and upgraded hybrid powertrains. One of the biggest changes is DC fast charging for the plug-in NX 450h+. The US and European versions carry different electric-range figures, however, so comparisons need to account for regional specifications and test procedures.
In the United States, Lexus has discontinued petrol-only NX variants. The range now consists of the NX 350h hybrid and NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, each offered in Premium, Premium+, F SPORT and Luxury trims. The updated model is expected to reach markets before the end of 2026, although prices and precise launch dates will be announced separately by region.
The crossover retains its familiar proportions but gains a redesigned grille and new LED lights with two-tier daytime running lights. At the rear are double-L light signatures and an illuminated Lexus wordmark. Black trim replaces some of the previous chrome detailing for a more contemporary appearance.
Inside, the dashboard has a horizontal layout, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen as standard across US trims. New tactile climate controls are joined by a redesigned centre console, revised door panels and a smaller-diameter steering wheel.
Luxury and F SPORT versions offer Sensory Concierge, which combines ambient lighting, music, climate settings and cabin fragrance. Lexus has also expanded the available materials and interior colours. Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 is standard on US models.
Engineers have reinforced the body and revised suspension, steering, accelerator response and braking. The aim is greater comfort and more predictable handling. Control of the interaction between the petrol engine and electric motors has also been refined.
Preliminary US figures put the NX 350h at 244 hp, equivalent to roughly 247 metric horsepower. The NX 450h+ delivers 324 hp, or about 328 metric horsepower, an increase of 20 US hp over the previous plug-in model. Final technical specifications may vary between markets.
The NX 450h+ has an upgraded lithium-ion battery and standard DC fast-charging capability. Lexus estimates 45 miles, or approximately 72 km, of electric range for the US version. Charging from 10 to 80% takes about 35 minutes on a 50 kW DC charger under favourable conditions. North American cars use a NACS connector.
For Europe, Lexus quotes more than 100 km of electric driving under the WLTP cycle. That difference from the US 45-mile figure does not necessarily mean the European car has a substantially larger battery: test methods and regional specifications vary. The US figure is also a Lexus estimate, not a final EPA certification result.
The refreshed Lexus NX is therefore a significant technology upgrade, especially in plug-in form. Buyers gain more powerful hybrids, a redesigned interior and faster charging for the NX 450h+. Final prices, certified efficiency figures and regional sales dates will follow.
