Bentley has unveiled a special version of the Bentayga EWB Azure called the Remembrance Car. This one-off pays tribute to 17 employees who lost their lives 85 years ago during the bombing of the Crewe facility in December 1940, when a German aircraft struck a shadow Rolls-Royce plant that produced Merlin engines for the legendary Spitfire. The Bentayga Remembrance conveys that history through symbolism, as reported by Revbuzz.com. The body wears a matte Satin Artica White finish, while the sides carry an aircraft silhouette with poppies “falling” from it—the traditional emblem of remembrance. Gold initials of the fallen employees appear on the pillars, and the grille bears the number 85 to mark the anniversary. The project was created by Bentley’s design division together with the BeReady corporate veterans network. For its members, the car serves not just as a tribute but as a bridge between the company’s past and its modern face. The restraint in execution reads as thoughtful rather than showy, which feels right for the subject. The Remembrance Cars series has been running since 2022, marking important historical dates each year. In 2024, Bentley dedicated a model to the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, and the current version is the fourth in the series. The Bentayga Remembrance will appear at commemorative ceremonies in Crewe and at the Race of Remembrance in Anglesey, where it will serve as the official car of the circuit. More than a styling exercise, it turns remembrance into motion—and lets the symbolism do the talking.
