BMW is preparing to unveil a special version of the electric i7 sedan at Frieze Seoul 2025, which runs from September 3 to 6. The car has been transformed into a work of art by Korean artist Lee Kun-Yong, a recognized pioneer of performative and conceptual art.

The project marks two milestones: the 50th anniversary of the BMW Art Car collection and 30 years of the brand’s presence in South Korea, now the company’s fifth most important market. On the BMW i7, the body becomes a canvas, bringing together art, technology, and the symbolism of human–machine interaction. Choosing the electric flagship for this role feels fitting, aligning innovation with a broader cultural conversation.

Beyond the art collaboration, BMW will also take part in the Frieze Music program. On September 5, singer Crush, one of Korea’s most popular R&B performers, will take the stage. It’s a neat way to connect performance and mobility in one setting.

The company underscores the strategic importance of the region: since 1995, BMW has actively expanded local infrastructure, including the Cheongna research center and the Driving Center proving ground. For buyers eyeing 2025 models, the project offers a clear reminder that a car can reach beyond everyday function—an impression that tends to outlast spec sheets.
