Genesis has officially unveiled the GV60 Magma to a global audience, the brand’s first series-production sports car and the kickoff for its new Luxury High Performance strategy. The auto magazine Tarantas News reported that the premiere unfolded across two stages—the Circuit Paul Ricard and the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show—signaling a clear shift for a marque previously centered on premium sedans and crossovers. The GV60 Magma wears a thoroughly reworked exterior with widened fenders, larger air intakes, a lower stance, and forged 21-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin features the brand’s Chamude material with orange highlights, while a steering wheel designed specifically for the Magma lineup sets the tone. The look doesn’t just hint at performance—it makes a case for a car engineered with purpose. The electric powertrain delivers 609 hp and 740 Nm, rising to 650 hp and 790 Nm in Boost mode. The sprint to 200 km/h takes 10.9 seconds. For maximum getaway, there’s Launch Control, and the suspension adopts electronic control with revised geometry, sharpening high-speed responses in a way that suggests careful chassis tuning rather than headline chasing.New functions play a central role here: a virtual gearbox (VGS), Drift Mode, and the HPBC system that manages battery temperatures during spirited driving. A dedicated “Magma Mode” brings key readouts to the instrument cluster—component temperatures, acceleration forces, wheel torque, and the remaining boost window—turning data into an easy-to-read performance toolkit. The GV60 Magma opens a new chapter for Genesis, evolving the brand from premium to premium with a sporting edge.
