BMW brought the Vision Neue Klasse X concept to the Guangzhou auto show, where SPEEDME.RU reporters are on site—a preview of the brand’s next generation of electric crossovers. The model rides on the global Neue Klasse platform that underpins the production iX3. The concept showcases a wholesale rethink of the brand’s cabin architecture, aerodynamics and electronics. The signature Panoramic Vision is the centerpiece: imagery is projected across the full width of the windshield, turning it into a single information layer. The cabin takes a minimalist tack. A slim instrument panel, a floating central display and layered materials create a sense of open space. The door cards and seats underscore BMW’s new design direction: a mix of soft textiles, sculpted forms and functional zones. The result feels cohesive and airy, more calming than austere.Under the skin, the Vision Neue Klasse X features sixth-generation BMW eDrive electronics. Thanks to a new battery and inverter architecture, just ten minutes of charging yields around 300 km of range. Overall range rises by 30 percent compared with today’s models, while energy density increases by 20 percent. On the efficiency front, aerodynamics play a starring role: the concept is 20 percent more efficient than current BMW crossovers. Control of the powertrain and assistance systems is handled by four computing units, the brand’s so‑called super brains. Over time, they are set to converge into a single system. The company confirms that production Neue Klasse models will be able to supply a home with energy thanks to bidirectional charging. Vision Neue Klasse X reads as more than a prototype—it is a direct look at BMW’s electric tomorrow and a clear statement of intent.
