A class action has been filed against Ford over the missing Forward Sensing System in a number of 2024 F-150 Lightning trucks. Buyers say the system was listed on the factory stickers but is absent in their vehicles. The feature warns the driver about obstacles ahead and is considered a key piece of active safety. One plaintiff stated he purchased the truck expecting the full bundle of features and only discovered the issue after receiving a letter from Ford in the spring.

According to the case materials, the company acknowledged the mistake, describing it as a typo on the sticker, and offered owners just $100 in compensation. Since installing an equivalent setup on the market costs far more, affected customers argue the offer is unreasonably low and claim it reduces the vehicle’s value.

Even with the error on record, Ford has not proposed additional damages or compensation for the perceived loss in value. As competition intensifies and scrutiny of electric pickup quality sharpens, missteps like this can quickly weaken buyer confidence—especially when safety equipment is involved, where a simple labeling lapse can feel like a broken promise.
